Got on the treadmill early today. Hammered out 10 miles at the middle to upper end of my aerobic heart rate zone. Felt very smooth with little to no soreness in the sticks. The only noticeable reaction to the stairs beating yesterday was that my feet were a little tender. Perhaps racing/training flats aren't the best shoes to wear for running stairs.
I often look back to last winter/spring to compare year-to-year. After todays workout I did this and noticed something both exciting and slightly troubling. The run I had today, which ended with an average heartrate of 162 bpm and a pace of just about 7:41 min/mile is a higher quality run (faster pace and lower heart rate) than most of my "race pace" runs from last year's mary training!
Thursday: 10 miles. 7:41 min/mile pace. 162 bpm avg HR
