Yesterday, a coworker of mine shared an article she saw on MSNBC (from Men's Health). The gist of the article, written from a runner who has run marathons previously, is that marathons are dangerous, even deadly.
Out of curiosity I Googled "marathon deaths". The first link that came up was this blog-post from a noted running coach. The point of this article is to say that these dangers are rare and preventable.
Both have one point though that is irrefutable: quality training is the key to keeping yourself safe and healthy running marathons.
Not sure I needed more motivation to train... but perspective is alway good.
